Taylor Hine

Visited here 12/30/16 for an oil change and inspection. I had been a customer for over a year because they had always performed my oil changes correctly in the past and never tried to sell me anything extra. However, this time a new mechanic Dakota, did my oil change. After a wait of 30 mintues, I paid and left to go home. Once at home, I checked under my hood to ensure everything was done correctly. I see the OIL FUNNEL still stuck in the valve cover, the OIL CAP WAS GONE, and there was NO OIL IN MY CAR per the oil dip stick. I drove my car back to the shop to receive a voice mail from the front desk, Jessica I believe, and she said "our mechanic forgot to put your oil cap back on". I asked for the owner because this was a very serious matter. My engine could have blown up and or damage could still be done to my engine. (I will be getting this checked to see if there is any) by my grandfather, who is a mechanic. I do have an older car, but I had my engine replaced and it is only two years old. Once at the shop again, Sam, another mechanic, came out to grab the funnel, as he proceeded to say "I am so sorry, I went to look for the funnel and when I couldn't find it, I figured it had been left in that toyota". "This is the 3rd time this had happened in five years" "we are human and we make mistakes". I showed Sam my oil dip stick and that there was no oil on the stick and that they didn't even top of my coolant. He went to get oil and coolant, to then put oil in the car and top off my coolant. Sam claimed that it probably blew out since there was no oil cap on, but if that was the case, why was there no oil splattered all over my engine or hood?. I received a refund for two oil changes because the first time she tried to refund me, she ended up charging me for another oil change instead. As I waited for them to go to Napa to retrieve a new oil cap, I had to call my work to tell them I was going to be late. The front desk lady kept apologizing over and over. I left a voice mail on Dec 31 asking for the owner to call me and he has not. So I went to the shop on January 3, 2017 and spoke with the manager Scott, who did not want to be the one to make an amends for this matter, so my contact information was given to him to give to his owners 4 days ago, and I gave them 3 days to contact me to resolve my experience and take accountability for their employees actions. The owners STEVE AND MIKE EVERHART, still HAVE NOT CONTACTED ME. When I spoke to the manger, he claimed all mechanics who worked on my car, said that "they did put oil in the car because the first time they did, they didn't screw on the filter tight enough and the oil spilled out, so they had to put it in again". Sounds like a quick made up lie, to cover their own tracks to keep their job, but that's my opinion. As a single mother of a 3 year old autistic boy, who works and goes to school, it is imperative that I have a reliable car to take my child to his EC pre k every morning, get to my job, and get to my school. It is not my character to "get over on businesses" however, it is my character to stand up for myself when I know and others know that I have been discounted for as a human being and as a customer when I have been loyal for over a year. What happened here, was not merely a "human mistake". It was PURE INCOMPETENCE. I WILL NEVER RETURN HERE and I will advise all of my neighbors, my friends, and my family to STAY AWAY.
