This place is scary. They released my husband from the practice with no warning. My husband has diabetes, high blood pressure, and overweight. He is 52 and has terrible knees. He needs doctor that empathize and will work with him to manage his health care needs. My husband was late so they rescheduled his appointment for a month later. The nurse practitioner clearly did not care about my husband's sugar or how he was responding to the new medicine. My husband was upset that no one would be checking his sugar and he became frustrated. When I say frustrated, I mean he literally said does Upchurch not want to check my sugar before a month. He did not swear or threaten anyone. He was truly just worried about his health and was was his healthcare provider not more sympathetic. The next thing we knew we had a certified letter stating he had 30 days to find a new doctor. I don't know how the rest of you feel, but Cabarrus family medicine is like a monopoly around here. It is difficult to get in with a dr in 30 days. My husband needs to be under the care of a dr but this practice has no care or concern for a person with medical issues.
I would advise finding a doctor that is in the business for people not prestige. We need medical providers that have a calling to truly work with and have relationship with their patients. Clearly this practice is on a power trip. From the looks of the previous reviews, if they keep kicking people out, they will put themselves out of business soon or have a lawsuit. I'm a school teacher. Glad these dr did not go into that business because they would not have a class to teach. I have a feeling teachers are beneath the people in this practice.
FYI- All things happen for a reason. My husband has found a very nurturing caring provider that also focuses on diabetes and of course it is not with Cabarrus family medicine because one person had the authority to kick him out of all Cabarrus family medicine groups. How should that be allowed? CRAZY!
