I was referred by my medical provider to have an EKG before having gallbladder surgery. Following the EKG I met with a cardiologist. He said that he felt that one of my prescription medications were causing the abnormal readings. I mentioned that I was having some occasional chest pains and he noticed that my artery in my neck was throbbing. He ordered an electrocardiogram. That test was normal , but his nurse told me that I have congestive heart failure. The doctor then ordered a nuclear stress test that was scheduled on a Thursday. I was told by the two technicians who administered the test that someone from the doctor's office would be calling me the following week with the results of the test. No one called. I waited the entire next week and then I called on Friday to get the results. No one answered my call so I left a voice message. The following Monday no one called. I never did receive a call with the test results. I got the results in an email message from the cardiologist's nurse almost two weeks after my test stating that the results were normal. I felt that this was vague considering that I had reported chest pains so I called three numbers and finally got to speak to a certified nurse assistant. It was then that she told me that the cardiologist stated that my chest pains were not heart related. I then called my medical provider and asked if he would contact the cardiologist to find out more information and he did so. I was told that if I wanted to know more about my pain that I needed to see my provider and not the cardiologist. What a crock. The cardiologist didn't provide me with any followup advice or make any suggestions and we still don't know anything concerning my pain. I might as well have asked my plumber about my pain because I would have gotten the same results. It is my opinion that this is NOT the standard of care. This cardiologist and his nurse are not worth seeing. Period. I would give them NO stars for a review, but that won't allow me to post this.
