I lived in Poplar West for two years, and would highly recommend it. The staff are kind, friendly, and extremely responsive. The apartments themselves get lots of natural light and have wonderful hardwood floors. It's a quick 10-minute walk to Duke's campus, and an even shorter walk to several great restaurants. I did have insect troubles occasionally, but Trinity treats for pests regularly, which helped significantly. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. Although crime does happen in this area, I generally felt safe in Poplar West, especially since LaSalle Street is often bustling with people, and Trinity sends honest and rapid updates when crimes occur nearby. Overall, I loved my experience at Poplar West, and am lucky to have discovered Trinity Properties.
My husband and I have lived in a Poplar West townhouse for the past 3 years and have been so pleased with our experience. You cannot beat the rent prices when combined with the location, responsiveness of Trinity Properties, and the townhouses themselves. Any time we have ever had a maintenance issue, they respond same day and usually have someone over to fix it (depending on the severity) by the next day! Everyone at Trinity Properties has been so great to us. Louise Circle is really a secluded, quiet neighborhood in the midst of a ton of other more crowded apartment complexes in the area. The general vibe is family/pet friendly with a peaceful wooded setting. Yes, the heating in the winter is not the best, but it's because of the two stories in the townhouse (the top floor is always very warm and comfortable!). With the heat in the summertime, the AC works great though and our whole place is cool. The only other negative I can think of is that the laundry facility in the middle of the circle has great washers, but poor dryers (at least as of the last time I used one, which was over a year ago). Everyone pretty much uses the laundry lines hung up everywhere, which we really enjoy. Can't say enough good things about our time here and how much of a gem finding our place on Louise Circle was. Sure, it's not a brand new construction with all the modern features, but the place has so much more character. Also have loved that you are able to plant a garden or plants outside your townhouse in the green space.
