We live less than half a mile from the firehouse, and it took the twenty minutes to get to us. My mother fell outside, was bleeding and couldn't get up. It started raining a cold rain, and we were out there in it because our own fire department couldn't find our home on the main Street in the community. What if it had been an emergency?
