Called to get some information on a vehicle. They seemed really nice and helpful and asked if I was ok with a soft pull. I gave my information because I've had soft pulls before with Nissan and I know it doesn't count as a hard inquiry on my credit score. I was given an offer but I decided not to go with it. Next day my credit report tells me that my information was sent to four different banks requesting an auto lone. I was never asked for permission to do so nor did I ever give consent to do this. When I mentioned this to the lady I had spoken with, this was her exact response over text " Sorry for the delay. We did the soft pull 1st. When you asked interest rate we sent it to one. After our last conversation I tried to see if the other 2 banks would compete for the loan but that was the best rate i could get (1st one) didn't send anywhere else".( I have our whole conversation in my phone for proof!!!) I then told her she ran my credit without my consent and now she won't answer my wife's nor my calls. I then called the dealership to let them know this wasn't what we had agreed one and his reply was that since I gave her my information, that implies concent for her to run my credit with all the banks.
