Best Western Plus Goldsboro

From check-in, I was impressed by this hotel. The employee that checked me in was super helpful and polite. (I apologize for not remembering his name!) It was a busy night and most of the parking lot was occupied, I was offered a spot under the canopy to accommodate me. Luckily, I was able to find a spot, because their parking lot is pretty big. The room was fairly standard. It wasn't spectacular, but I didn't pay a spectacular price (and you're not getting a resort stay in Goldsboro, it just doesn't exist). The room was clean and well maintained, the baby couldn't even find anything to put in his mouth. He was disappointed by that. The beds and bedding was comfortable and I slept well. The bathroom was very clean, but overall pretty standard. Breakfast is good, Afternoon cookies are better. Staff is great. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Goldsboro.

Attempted to book a room for the night here because my fiance had a death in the family. We were staying with her family untill late and had to be back with her family the next day for the funeral. So we thought it would be less stressful if we stayed in town rather than have to drive home late that night and back the next morning. Received confirmation and thought we had a place to stay for the night. WE WERE WRONG! Later that night I received a call from the hotel saying THEY CANCELED OUR RESERVATION due to a company policy that they do not allow anyone that lives within 45min of the hotel to stay there. WHAT??? Up until this point I have always looked for a Best Western to stay at I can not say that will be true anymore. Terrible company policy and it left us scrambling to find somewhere else to stay on a night that we really didn't need any added concerns.
